Mary Valley drops come down to access: steep drives and soft ground after rain. We check before we quote so there are no surprises on the day.
Around Imbil containers mostly get used for acreage storage, timber and tool stores, and storage sited up off the flats. Whatever yours is for, the process is the same: one call, one delivered price, right truck for your access.

Imbil is a Mary Valley town with forest on the ranges around it and Lake Borumba up the road, and the people who buy containers here reflect that. There are acreage owners who want a workshop or secure storage without building a shed, small farms that need feed and machinery stores, and weekenders who want somewhere lockable for the boat and camping gear they take to the dam.
Container workshops are especially common. On a hinterland-style block a container turns up already lockable and already the right shape for a bench, and our workshop guide covers the orientation, airflow and power decisions to make before it lands.
Imbil blocks are rarely flat. Driveways climb off the valley floor, bends tighten near the house, and the only level ground is often where you least expect it. A tilt-tray needs a firm, reasonably level spot and a straight run to tip a container. On a steep drive or a tight turn, it's better to find that out from photos than on the day.
Soft ground is the other issue. The valley's creeks and flats hold water after rain, and a loaded truck can bog on a track that a 4WD handles easily. If your access includes a creek crossing, a causeway or a steep pinch, tell us up front.
Yabba Creek and the Mary itself mean the low country around Imbil can go under in a big wet. Pick a spot above any water you've seen lying, and set the container on solid supports under the corners. A cargo-worthy container keeps rain out from above. It won't keep out rising water, because floodwater gets in past the door seals, and an empty container can float. Height is what protects what you store.
The valley also fogs, and a closed steel box in fog country sweats. Vents high at one end and low at the other, and keeping tools off the floor, make a big difference.
A 20ft gives about six metres of bench and is easier to get down a tight drive. A 40ft gives room for a bench on one side and machinery on the other, but it needs a sidelifter and around 30 metres of working room, which not every Imbil block has. A high cube adds headroom that's worth having once lighting and shelving are in.
Lake Borumba draws people to Imbil for fishing, paddling and camping, and plenty of Imbil containers hold the gear that goes with it. Boats on trailers, kayaks, camping kit, fishing rods and tackle, and the eskies and chairs that come out every long weekend. Owners who live further away but fish the dam often keep a container on a small block near town, so the boat doesn't have to be towed back and forth each trip.
If the boat is going inside, check the trailer width, the motor height and the overall length against the door opening and internal dimensions before you order. Keep batteries on a trickle charger or out of the container altogether, keep fuel cans out of the closed box, and give it some ventilation so the valley fog doesn't leave everything damp between trips.
Workshops and permanent stores are usually bought. Cargo-worthy used units are wind and watertight, which is what keeps tools dry. As-is units are cheaper, but they're sold as seen and not sold watertight, so they suit hay or rough storage, not a workshop. Hire works during a build, and hire units go out cargo-worthy, wind and watertight.
Imbil deliveries run down the Mary Valley road with our valley trips. Freight is quoted with the container, and the day is confirmed at order with the track conditions in mind.
Often, but steep drives and tight bends need checking. Send photos of the driveway and drop spot and we'll confirm the truck before you order.
Above any ground that floods or holds water, on firm supports under the corners. Floodwater gets in past door seals, so height matters.
Yes, if it's oriented for afternoon shade, ventilated for valley fog and has power run by a licensed electrician. A high cube gives better headroom.
It can. Tracks and creek crossings go soft after rain, so the day is confirmed with ground conditions in mind.
Pomona, Cooroy, Kin Kin, Imbil and Amamoor blocks are full of container workshops. The ones that work got the orientation, the airflow and the power sorted before delivery day — here is that list.
Gympie floods. A container won't keep floodwater out — nothing at this price will — but placed high on your block it's the cheapest way to get your gear above the Mary.
Brooloo, Bollier, Borumba, Yabba Creek, Kandanga, Melawondi. Same deal: one delivered price, and the truck matched to your access.
